Amla


Friends! In this blog I always try to share the information which can be utilised for good health easily, without spending hefty amount on costly food supplements and medicines. The purpose is to benefit mankind as maximum as possible. We all are not rich and hence we need to consider our pocket and buying capacity also before buying such health products.

Today we will learn the benefits of Amla (Indian Gooseberry). Its botanical name is Phyllanthus Emblica. Its tree is small to medium in height, and its fruit is small lemon size (green colour) with vertical stripes. Fruit ripes in Autumn. For remaining time it is used in and as various forms like juice, powder, jelly, pickle, and sweet fruit preserve.

Amla has enormous health benefits, if consumed regularly, some of them i am trying to share.

      1)   It is a rich source of vitamin C, which helps in fighting against cold, cough and weather   related diseases.
      2)   Boosts immune system.
    3)    It is rich antioxidant, which fights free radicals (who can damage cells and causes cancer).
     4)    It helps in strengthening liver function and detoxification.
     5)    It helps in curing inflammation.
     6)    It helps in improving digestive system leading to better metabolism and hence low fat deposits in body. It also helps in controlling triglyceride level in body
    7)     Amla has good effect on diabetic patients as it helps controlling blood sugar level.
    8)     It contains essential vitamins which improves Eye sight.
    9)     It strengthen our overall body system (Mind, Body and heart)
   10)    It helps in increasing red blood cell counts and haemoglobin.
   11)    Amla juice is perfect mouth wash as it cleanses the mouth and removes bad odour and strengthen teeth.
   12)   Relieves menstrual problems like cramps and pain.
   13)   It is a well known blood purifier.
   14)   It makes hair more lustrous and strong

The Amla can be taken as fresh juice with honey for its maximum benefits. It can also be consumed as Powder with Honey or Water or Milk. Another form of consumption is pickles candies etc.

Although it has no side effects, it is advised that Amla should be taken with prior consultation of your doctor or physician.
