Importance of Nutritional Diet

We all know that our body needs food to survive. Let me add something, our body needs nutritional diet to survive longer and perform internal functions better.
This nutritional diet can be extracted from the daily food we take. Its up to us how smartly we opt for the food which is good for our health and body. Our health is directly proportional to our food habits be it physical health or mental health.
When we undergo weight training program or strength trainings or any other fitness program, our eating habits helps us to get the desired result faster and effectively.
Our body requires food to survive and nutrients help our body to utilize our food properly. We take food to keep our body performing constantly some important internal functions. The most important of them are
• Providing energy: Food we take is digested (this process is called metabolism) to energise our body to perform physical activities. It also helps internal organs to function constantly.
• Growth: Food is required for growth of our body by building up the tissues which usually breakup during physical activities.
• Control and regulation of internal processes: The internal body processes performed by our body.

There is a huge list of nutrients our body requires. Here we will discuss some of very important which makes our food a Nutritional diet.

• Carbohydrates: they are considered as the immediate supplier of energy to the body. Our body sources up to 75% of the energy requirement from the carbs only. When taken in excess than actual requirement, it stores as glycogen and used accordingly or else stored as fat. The main sources of carbohydrates are pulses cereals, sugar etc.
• Proteins: About 20% of our body is made up of proteins. Proteins help in repairing and building of tissues. They also make enzymes and various hormones and antibodies to perform protective functions in the body. The main sources of proteins are meat, fish, milk poultry products and pulses.
• Fats: Fats are also other source of energy for our body. But it is not considered a very healthy source as it is the main cause of weight gain especially in countries like India where people rely on oils and ghee (butter) too much. However we should add some amount of monounsaturated fat in our diet as MUF is essential for brain development and body efficiency.
• Vitamins: Our body need them for growth and proper functioning of its parts like eyes, skin etc. Vitamins are found in fruits, vegetables, eggs, meat, fish etc.
• Minerals: Minerals are substance which helps in fabrication of our body. Some of them are Iron, Calcium, Zinc etc. They helps strengthening of bones and teeth, blood cells etc. The sources of the minerals are fruits, milk, fish etc.
• Water: Last but not the least water is the most important of any nutritional diet. 70% of our body is made up of water. Water helps in digestion, absorption of nutrients and elimination of waste. It controls body temperature and act as a lubricant as well.

So my dear friends switching over to a nutritional diet is much more important than skipping a diet.
